lim·i·nal
/ˈlimənəl/
adjective
1. occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold.
"I was in the liminal space between past and present"
2. relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process.
"that liminal period when a child is old enough to begin following basic rules but is still too young to do so consistently"

Hello, I'm Ochi ^^
I'm sure you know, but I'm a liminal space VTuber, specifically one centered around aquariums.
Now, I don't believe liminal spaces are particularly scary places - I think they're very comfortable, and that's the sort of environment I'm focusing on for my community and content.
Fun, silly, and hopefully comforting.
I create lets play style videos for games, share my art, my hobbies, and hopefully encourage you to pursue your hobbies in the process ( ´ ꒳ ` )

If you're curious on the rules of the liminal world I've created, please feel free to check out the lore page.

Admittedly, I don't really roleplay my sona a whole lot. She just represents me and I don't feel the need to pretend I'm in her world too much. I think it's sadder than my own, so I'm grateful I don't share it.
If you're confused on what sona means, just know it literally just means persona - a 'sona', an extension of myself.
My content style is scrappy, so I hope that's okay - I don't feel too much pressure to keep things incredibly neat when I'm making everything myself, and I've given up on neat. It takes the joy out of projects, to be too neat I think.

Ochi Mochi

Fallen through a soft spot in the grass, Ochi was thrust into a realm of distant, forbidden magic.
She'd learned about it in school - liminal magic, something dark magic users even feared. It was extrodinarily rare, and even more difficult to master.
When she fell into the liminal realm, she felt it all around her. This hollow nothingness. And soon after, once she had recovered from her fall and her shock, she realised the sad truth: She would die here.Something far worse happened. Instead, she became a part of it. Her mind intact, but her mana and flesh permanantly altered. She was no longer a human. She was an extension of the realm, feeling and speaking for it.She'd lost track of time, but learned there was another realm, one much closer than her own, called Earth. She met people from there, and sometimes was able to find rifts between where she could pop her head out and see what things were like - but she learned quickly she was unable to leave the liminal realm completely. At least, she could pop her head out and say hello.

In time, she met scientists from earth, who helped her a great deal. They could bring her food, technology, and company. She's made more friends since she made her home in the aquarium, and she's able to do more good by bringing those who fall in to scientists who can help return them home.Being online, and getting access to better hobby items from the scientists certainly helps, and in exchange all they ask is room for tests and conversations. Now, she makes videos for humans, and makes friends online. Some she's even learned she can visit through rifts. It's not a lot, but it's something, and it's hers.

Introduction
The liminal realm is one made up of the many in-betweens of abandoned nostalgia and familiarity.
You will find spaces within this realm that resemble offices, parking lots, apartment buildings.. sometimes even pools or aquariums.

This place is made up of magic, and is it's own living being that exists just against the Earth realm. There are many rifts between the realms where people may accidentally find themselves falling, stepping, flying, or swimming into the liminal realm, many times with no safe way out.

Upon Ochi's assimilation into the realm's ecosystem, she has assumed the role of guardian and will guide people out of the realm safely with the help of scientists.

So if you find yourself in another realm of reality, where nothing lives or grows, worry not, you'll be home soon.

Mana Rules ꩜ ‧.°. 𖦹.°

Rule 1: Everything always goes back to how it was before. If you move a chair, the chair will move back. If you tear cloth, the cloth will put itself back together. If you shatter a window, the pieces will disappear over time, and the window will slowly 'heal' until it is whole again. This is "regeneration". Treat the space as a living entity, where everything will heal to its original state with time.Rule 2: Foreign objects will always be assimilated, if they are not removed. Assimilation time varies, but if a doll is dropped into a liminal space, after a period of time it will completely disappear. See rule 1.Rule 3: Liminal mana is suffocating. Everything will die within a sooner timeframe, as the mana consumes the life force and makes it extremely difficult to thrive. If a non magical creature falls in, they will die. If a plant falls in, it will die. The liminal realm is a true limbo.Rule 4: If a magical creature falls in, their existing magic will become erroded by the liminal mana, and they will assimilate with the liminal space, becoming a part of it. This creature will not need food, will always return to its original form (whatever their form may be post-assimilation), and will be unable to leave the liminal realm, or it will die. They will be trapped in a permanant state of existing. They are no longer a person, they are an entity.

Rule 5: If a creature that falls in escapes, they will fully recover from any damage done by the liminal mana. If they are close to death, they will heal naturally within their own realm once they have escaped and make a full recovery. Effects of liminal mana are not permanant, as long as you are not a magical creature. If you are a magical creature, the liminal mana has begun erroding your mana, and you escape before you are an entity, you will die. The liminal mana will continue to assimilate you, and you will become very sick, before suddenly disappearing. The rate at which this happens is directly impacted by the length of exposure to liminal mana. It's best to avoid entering or interacting with liminal mana at all.Rule 5: If a magical creature has no flesh, it will become fully absorbed by the liminal magic (a slime for example). If it has flesh, it will retain its physical body, and its physical body will retain the amount of magical power it originally had access to.Rule 6: Entities are a physical representation of the liminal realm. If the realm is unhealthy, the entities will get sick.Rule 7: Entities are able to make permanent changes to the liminal environments within certain bounds. (Example: They are unable to bring items from other spaces into a new space, but they can reorganise and duplicate items from existing spaces, as well as make items that fall in permanent fixtures.)
Note: Ochi is able to supersede this rule within a certain bound. She can suspend items in liminal time within the pocket dimension in her right eye socket, allowing her to transition items between spaces safely, but it cannot be smaller than a briefcase, and cannot be removed from a permanant fixture (such as moving ceiling light fixtures between spaces, or taking hyperspecific items dedicated to those spaces)
Rule 8: Small non-human animals are immune to liminal mana effects. This includes cats, dogs, hampsters, ect. (just because i can. LOL.)

Thank you so much to everybody involved!
I wouldn't have been able to accomplish this without them (。╯︵╰。)♡♡♡
